Week 3:

Jesus and His Friends: Worship Together (Luke 5-6)

Sunday children heard the story of the friendship between Jesus and His disciples and learned about the things they did together.

We discussed the importance of worship and learned that God gives us friends. This lesson is based on the Bible verse, "Love one another." (John 13:34)

Children took the time to sing and dance with their friends. Our special words we learned were, "God [point up] gives us friends [raise both arms high and wave hands]."

Week 2:

Jesus and His Friends: Eat Together (Luke 5-6)

Sunday children heard the story of the friendship between Jesus and His disciples and learned about the things they did together.

We discussed the importance of prayer and learned that God gives us friends. This lesson is based on the Bible verse, "Love one another." (John 13:34)

Children participated in an activity eating food with their friends. Our special words we learned were, "God [point up] gives us friends [raise both arms high and wave hands]."

Week 1:

Children participated in an activity to help them learn about God with their friends. Our special words we learned were, "God [point up] gives us friends [raise both arms high and wave hands]!"

During this time, children will learn that God gives us friends. Each week, they will hear the same story of friendship between Jesus and His disciples. The application will change each lesson, focusing on what children can do with their friends, such as learn, worship and spend time together.

 

Each week, we will hear a Bible Story from our back yard.

Week 4:
Jesus Can Feed Five Thousand People (Matthew 14:15-21; Mark 6:35-44; Luke 9:12-17; John 6:5-14)

Sunday, children heard the story of Jesus feeding 5,000 people from a little boy's small lunch.

Week 3:
Jesus Can Heal a Leper (Matthew 8:1-4; Mark 1:40-45; Luke 5:12-15)

Sunday, children heard the story of Jesus healing a leper.

We discussed the importance of trust and prayer, and children learned that Jesus can do anything. He is all-powerful. This lesson is based on the Bible verse, "God is my helper." (Psalm 54:4a NLT)

Children were asked ways that Jesus helps them when they are sick or hurt. Our special words we learned were, "God [point up] can do [make fist by shoulder] anything [punch up].

Week 2:
God Can Keep the Jar Full (1 Kings 17:7-16)

Sunday, children heard the story of Elijah and the poor widow, and how God kept the widow's supply of flour and oil form running out.

We discussed the importance of trust and prayer, and children learned that God can do anything. He is all-powerful. This lesson is based on the Bible verse, "God is my helper." (Psalm 54:4a NLT)

Children were asked about ways God helps them by providing food, water and clothes. Our special words we learned were, "God [point up] can do [make fist by shoulder] anything [punch up].

Week 1:
God Can Part the Water (Exodus 13:17-22, 14)

Sunday, children heard the story of God parting the Red Sea and the Israelites walking through the sea on dry ground.

We discussed the importance of trust and prayer, and children learned that God can do anything. He is all-powerful. This lesson is based on the Bible verse, "God is my helper." (Psalm 54:4a NLT)

Children were asked ways God helps them when they are sad, mad or scared. Our special words we learned were, "God [point up] can do [make fist by shoulder] anything [punch up].

Children will visit the Wonder Room. In this funky and exciting room, children get to find a special treasure chest that hides the most amazing things. There is also a special music box and grab bag, from which you never know what may come!

During this time, children will learn that God is all-powerful as they hear about the parting of the Red Sea and how God kept a widow's supply of flour and oil from running out. They will also hear about Jesus' power in healing a leper and feeding 5,000 people.

Week 4:
God Made Everything: Review (Genesis 1-2)

Sunday, children heard the whole creation story. The focus was on God's instruction to us for the care of all He has given us.

Children not only celebrated God's creation, but also reviewed our responsibility to take care of it.

They learned that God made everything and He wants us to take care of what He made.
Our special words we learned were, "God [point up] wants us to make [thumbs up] right choices."
