Hearts of Hope

Posted by Missions Ministry in Missions

Hearts of Hope, formerly known as Stuller Place, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency whose aim is to reduce the trauma experienced by child and adult victims of sexual abuse and sexual assault. All services are confidential and are completed without expense for the clients. They provide services to the parishes of Lafayette, Acadia, Vermilion, Iberia, St. Martin, St. Mary, St. Landry and Evangeline.

Hearts of Hope is in need of volunteers to manage their 24 hour crisis line, meet the victims in the Emergency Rooms to provide support, and work with website management, newsletter set-up, fundraising events and office duties.

Alaska- Iditarod Outreach- Nome, Alaska

Posted by Missions Ministry in Missions

Imagine over 100 volunteers from across the USA giving up their spring break, vacation time and wages. They brave the elements to serve selflessly, impacting mushers and the people of Nome with goodness and the gospel- doing the tough jobs: dog lots, snow-machine transport across the Bering Sea, finish-line security, custodial work…to kids club, sports clinics, hot chocolate sleds and Bible in a bucket (distribution). We are looking for team members who can work hard and be a shining example of God’s love.

New York- Long Island, New York- Crossover Church

Posted by Missions Ministry in Missions

Partner with a church plant in Long Island to reach a community that is extremely skeptical towards Christians. Spread the Gospel through servant evangelism by passing out flyers, preparing backdrops and decorations for the Kids’ Camp, cleaning the facility, helping individuals in the community with construction projects or landscaping, painting, and assembling and distributing commuter train gift bags. We are looking for team members who are ready to work and serve with a smile. Help show this community what it means to serve and love others just as Christ loves us, and pray that they are drawn by His irresistible grace!

Alaska- Construction and Caribou

Posted by Missions Ministry in Missions

Picture yourself traveling to remote Alaska and sleeping in a tent surrounded by wild animals such as caribou and Kodiak bears. The Alaska Mission has recently purchased a huge tract of land to be used as a youth camp for rural Alaskans. However, the property is untouched by civilization and has a lot of construction to be completed before it is ready for campers. You will have the difficult job of preparing the land to be used for ministry by building cabins and other facilities needed.

An added opportunity will be hunting the caribou on the land to eat for meals during the week. We are looking for team members who have skills in construction, camping, and hunting. Not a trip for the faint of heart!
